The new bartering system

There’s a lot of time to kill. And there are many entertaining ways to fill that time. Most of us have subscriptions to a few on-demand networks, don’t we? Of course we do.

But not everyone has everything, and that one damn show you want to watch…do you get a subscription just for that show? Of course you don’t.

So here’s what you do: barter. Trade with a friend or family member. For instance, my sister just increased her Spotify subscription to a family mode, so that I could get ad-free Spotify on them. In return, I gave her a log in to my Crave/HBO subscription. That works, right? (I will also throw in the Globe and Mail cryptic crossword puzzle on Saturdays, because…well just because it’s what we do.)

No doubt you have a sibling, or friend, or niece, or nephew who could use a free subscription to something. So why not share! These content providers are making a mint off us now, so get your money’s worth out of them.

Umm, ok, that’s all.
